Where have I been in 2007?

I have had a busy and exciting year. the beginning of the year I was home in Utah guiding and skiing in the Wasatch.

In March I went to Joshua tree to climb for three weeks, and I took the AMGA Rock Instructors course. If you have never had a car camping climbing trip with friends, it is a blast.

In the spring I had a beautiful ski tour in the Sierras with my friends Allison and Terry traversing up and over many passes. We journeyed from Rock Creek to Mammoth in four days.

Alaska was next on the list starting with Valdez where I was ski touring for three weeks training for the Ski Mountaineering Exam. I am very excited that I passed the exam making me a certified guide in this discipline! Yeah!

Then up in the Ruth Gorge in the Alaska range we climbed Ham and Eggs on the Mooses Tooth before our Denali trip.

We had a successful trip on Denali though storms and wind kept us a 14K for over a week, we were able to summit on our last possible day with stellar weather.

The summer in the Cascades brought a few runs up Baker, and many up Rainier as Alpine Ascents had one of the permits that gave up many trips on this stunning glaciated peak.

In September I took a personal trip to Tuolome and Yosimite for some brilliant climbing with friends for three weeks.

Next I went to Nepal for work guiding the Everest Base Camp trek and Island Peak climb again in October.

When I returned home, the desert was calling my name. So we went down to Indian Creek in southern Utah for some world class crack climbing!

Thanksgiving we were in GA to visit my family for the holiday. We had many playground/sandbox escapades with our 18 month old niece Callie Winslow who entertained us all.

Now I am enjoying sometime at home before heading to Antarctica to guide on Mt. Vinson!
